Our Trip Up North - Part 4

One of the fun things we did on our vacation was just visiting family! Sadie got to meet some of her Great-Grandparents for the first time! She warmed up to them pretty quick and I think they couldn't get enough of her! I thought these pictures were pretty cute! So that's the scoop on our first trip this summer, next is a trip to see my family in Missouri! We leave on Thursday night, we are driving to Phoenix and spending the night with my brother John and his family, then Friday we are flying to St. Louis to stay with my parents! We are so excited! I'm sure we'll have lots of pictures to share when we get back!

They had a blast throwing the ball around with her!

Our Trip Up North - Part 3

While we were up north, we we able to take a couple of days and spent some time outside, just relaxing, enjoying the cooler weather and the green. It was really nice! One day we went to Pentoga Park, where there's a really big lake. Tanner did some fishing, while Sadie and I just walked around, played on the playground, and just hung out. Sadie totally enjoyed it! Another day we walked down a nearby walking/biking trail that was really nice! It was fun! Here are a few pics.

Tanner fishing

Sadie found an acorn!

Sadie loved climbing up on the picnic table
and getting into all of Tanners fishing stuff!

She found a bobber and immediately said "Ball!"

Sadie loved the swings and the slides!

Walking on the Apple Blossom Trail

Playing with rocks, one of Sadie's very favorite things to do!

We found a caterpillar and showed it to Sadie, but she didn't
like it at all - if you can't tell by the look on her face!

Our Trip Up North - Part 2

We spent the majority of our time up north in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan visiting Tanner's Grandparents. Its beautiful up there, lots and lots of trees! While we were there, we got to tour an iron mine. It would've been really fun and neat, except Sadie bawled the entire time and was so ornery! She hadn't been feeling well the first several days of our trip and this was just one more last straw for her! Part of it was that we had to wear slickers and helmets. Sadie's slicker was way to big for her, so it was confining, and they didn't have a helmet small enough for her, so she just had to wear the hood of her slicker, which was also too big! I felt really bad for the tour guide and the other couple that was on the tour, because once we were inside the mine, there was no escape from her crying and it just seemed louder! But once we got out of the mine, we let her run around outside for a bit, and she perked right up! She slid down a big pile of rocks, and played in a water puddle, and drank from the water fountain! If nothing else it was a great photo opportunity!

Sadie - all ready to go into the mine. The
harness is ours - to keep her from running off!

Tanner, Sadie, and Me - riding the little train into the mine

Sadie was semi-happy to walk for a minute
before she started crying again!

Sadie - happy as can be to play in a puddle outside

Playing on the big pile of rocks!

Drinking from the water bubbler!

Eww...Gross! I didn't know she did this until I saw the picture!

More stuff to come about our trip up north!

Our Trip Up North - Part 1

So we're back from our trip up north to visit Tanner's parents! We flew from Yuma to Milwaukee, with a stopover in Phoenix. Sadie did so so so good on the flights, especially since she had gotten up at 4:40am and didn't take a nap until we got to Milwaukee! We are so proud of her! We went and stayed at Tanner's parent's house in Illinois for the first two days and I was able to visit with my sister, Tamera, and her family. It was so great to see them, it had been almost a year! The kids are growing so much, and Sadie had an absolute blast playing with them! It was lots of fun and even though it was a short amount of time, I'm so grateful we had it! Here are a few pics!

Henrik, Sadie, Tallia, and Will playing outside. Sadie
LOVED the swing! And she (and I) loved the beautiful
weather and the green green green!

Grant - he's growing so much! His feet are as big as mine!

Tallia and Sadie - Talli was such a good cousin to
Sadie while we were there; she played and played
with her and made her laugh so much!

Will - the ham of the family. The only pictures
I got of him look like this!

Henrik - Such a sweetheart! He made sure Sadie
was safe. He kept telling her "no no, don't
touch that, you will choke on that" even if
it was way too big for her to choke on!

Little AnnieLynn. She wasn't too sure about us until the last night,
but she sure was cute! Sadie loved her walker. She saw AnnieLynn
havingsnacks while she was in her walker, then later, I gave Sadie
some ofthe same snacks, so she thought she had to eat them in the
walkertoo! Sadie looked so funny moving around in that walker that
she was way too big for!

Sadie all ready to go to school. Tallia dressed her up
and Sadie thought she was so cool!

Here's a little video of Sadie playing with Henrik and Tallia! Enjoy!
I will continue to post more about our trip up north next time!
